Ross was recommended to me when seeking the right photographer for a specialized job, photographing American performance vehicles in studio.
For circumstance outside our control we had to use a studio that was marginal in size. The photo shoot required that each vehicle had to be maneuvered again and again to provide the different angles we needed (We had about 20 cm space on all sides to achieve this) Having worked with many photographers in the past, I know that most would have simply walked out on this very difficult job and told us to call them when we found a suitable studio. Ross did not! I can’t say he was ecstatic about the situation (none of us were) but he took it on as a challenge. I acted as his assistant and was amazed at his attention to detail and his perfectionism. His lighting skills are second to none. As a former photographer (non-studio) I possessed a certain understanding of this art, however, I was absolutely in awe of Ross’ skills and drive to get every single frame exactly right. It took us two 12-hour days to get the job done. Ross worked tirelessly, hardly taking a break and never complaining.
The results of his hard labour: Any client would have been ecstatic with the raw material produced; however, Ross’ post-production skills totally blew us away. He brought the cars to life with an almost 3D-like quality. Especially the interior images are absolutely amazing. We then also used Ross to photograph the large American Fifth Wheel Caravans for the sister-company Crossroads.
Ross’ work speaks for itself but he offers more than just great work. Ross is extremely personable and easy to work with. He listens and then converts one’s brief not only to one’s expectations but surpasses them. He is an absolute pleasure to work with and truly delivers on his promises.
